another defeat for my youths and this time against out bitter rivals a lot of hard work to do to get the team i want might as well right this season off and try sort my team for next season
Another hard fought contest in another U23 Tyne-Wear derby in which we got the winning goal later through sub Proctor. Thought we were good value for large parts of the game but so were they and they lost a player very early on to injury which marred the contest.
Kas-Madia is an impressive young player, just a constant threat that we had to contain all day. I think in the end fresher legs prevailed, in that we emptied our bench to push for the result and the mantra of the moment 'good teams find a way to win ugly' applies here. We continue up top and working hard.
I see the Manchester derby was a see sawing battle which City won. Quietly barracking for United in that one solely because the result would help us the most - no love lost between any sides in the Northeast. If we just keep winning we won't have to worry too much about gaps and points and GD and City's performances!
Playing bottom placed The Whites U23 away from home needed a solid performance and we did great in the first half. It sent us well on the way to three points. Zack Marsh and Daniel Emovon scored one each to give us a 2-0 lead at half time. Caleb Redhead added the third early in the second half and secured the win. Good performance overall and great to take a step out of bottom three.
