Congratulations Alex I knew you were winning this one too

Disappointing that no extra time was played although I dont think it would have made any difference but would like to know the rules to why it wasn't when I had to go to ET in the QF round

Anyway role on the off season to have a break now

Aston Villa 0-0 Bournemouth
Aston Villa win 4-3 on penalties

We are world club cup champions and add a second major title to the cabinet for this season to go alongside the Division 1 title!!!

A great end to the season coming only a few days after I was bemoaning our rotten luck in shootouts! Finally we were able to put that hoodoo to bed and get over the line to cap off our season! In all honesty winning these two trophies makes this the most successful season i've had in any ESMS game - particularly when we add in the U23 title as well!

The game was always going to be cagey and so it proved with no goals. I was also surprised not to have extra time but as Matt says it probably would have made no difference and the two teams are so close that penalties was always on the cards anyway!

A word on @Matt who has pushed us all the way on every front this season. I've said for a while he's one of the best managers and toughest opponents in ESMS and I stand by it. He got the better of me last season and i'm relieved to finally get a couple back against him! I know he will be back for more and be even tougher to beat next season! Unlucky mate but thanks for the great games!

We will celebrate and then get into prep for next season. We will have to be even better again if we want to come back and defend either of our titles!
