Leicester City have today confirmed that manager Will Schoolar has left the club by mutual consent following the 1-0 defeat to Burnley in the Anglo-American Champions League Final. Schoolar had applied for the vacant Manchester United position during the season, and upon failing to get the role, the club and manager had agreed to discuss the future at the end of Season 19.
Schoolar has spent 9 seasons at the King Power Stadium, leading them to the Championship title in his first season, before delivering consistently good league finishes in the Premier League. Schoolar also led Leicester to every trophy barring the Premier League title and the Champions League during this period.
Both club and manager are now looking for a new direction, and it has been agreed that the departure is best for both parties. Leicester City would like to thank Will Schoolar for his commitment to the team, and for his guidance in taking Leicester to the top half of the Premier League table and multiple trophies during his time here.
