Fulham 4 - 1 West Bromwich Albion

Cracking win for the caretaker side, even though I didn't send my sheet. It was still open on my PC when I went back to it, so it's completely my fault. Hopefully we can build on the excellent start the Assistant Manager managed here!!

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 Queens Park Rangers
A very pleasing 2-0 win that came off the back of controversy at the start. We handed our teamsheet in with Giovanni Simeone listed to start only to be told he was suspended for the game. An oversight on our admin team who thought suspensions from previous seasons didn't carry over to the new one. Someone in the back office is getting sacked for that one! It meant Diogo Jota was promoted to the starting lineup whilst Vlad Dragomir was quickly drafted in for his final game for the club off the bench - nice for him to get a farewell.

We came out of the blocks well and a quick one-two in the first 20 minutes settled it. First Harvey Gilmour scored his first goal for the club on his debut before Sam Lammers doubled the advantage - another debut goal with our transfer activity immediately paying dividends. After that we settled back into a more conservative style and effectively saw the game out with no significant issues.

Overall a very pleasing first run out with all the debutants having decent games - 9 of them in total - despite our early cock up. We kept their dangerman Kudus quiet and managed a couple of goals past Bradley who we were concerned about at the start. It's always nice to start off with a win and get some momentum behind us and, as I said, this squad is by no means the finished article so will get better and better as the season progresses.

Eagles (1) 1 - 1 (1) Whites

Facing Leeds United on opening day is as tough as it gets but we've done changes to our roster in front of the season and believed we had what it takes to overcome The Whites. Sadly we found ourselves a goal down early on when Tariq Lamptey's shot smashed against the bar onto the line. The reply shows the ball clearly crossing the line and the visitors found themselves a goal up. But we continued to play football and didn't get effected by the opening goal. In the 21st minute Phil Jones went on a rare run, rounded Manuel Akanji and when he faced Filip Jørgensen in their goal, he made it look easy to level the score.

Both teams had chances to take the lead at half time but neither teams came closer than one shot against the post each. I feel we was the better team in the second half but we simply couldn't find the winner. A okey result for us but knowing we played at Selhurs Park we should have done a little better.

Southampton 1 - 1 West Ham United

Not a bad start against a strong team. Haaland of course on the scoresheet!
