Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 0-2 Derby County U23s
I made a huge error playing Toby Collyer out of position as an AM and it cost us. It was a breakdown in communication of match instructions as I never meant him to play there but I take full responsibility for the error and the defeat. Derby are a good side and played well taking advantage of my slip and winning the game. I have no complaints over the result and we just have to take it.

It's a shame as it spoils our unbeaten start to the season and is the first time we have failed to score but I have been saying for sometime this side is over performing so we have to accept there will be a slip or two. Just a shame it was an error from me that caused it.

We drop to third in the league but we're still only a point off top tanks to the Liverpool Bournemouth draw. The biggest down side is it has allowed Derby to close to five points behind us but it's still early days and a very satisfactory season to date. We won't dwell on this one - just learn from it and move on

Leicester City U23 0-1 Aston Villa U23

A narrow victory that could have been by more. We dominated the game keeping them to only one shot on target compared to our nine and dominated the possession with 64%. We just couldn't get past them for long periods with their GK Green in top form. In the end it was Tom Costello who turned out to be the game winner with the only goal just before the hour. Our fouth away game in the league out of six and our third win on our travels.

The result lifts us to second after the Wolves loss and, with Bournemouth drawing with Liverpool we're just a point off them. With matt's side still to come to us this season it means the title is in our hands. Of course it is far to early to be talking about such things but this 22 game season doesn't feel very long and we'll be past halfway before we know it. So staying in the mix throughout is vital.

With our win and none of the other top four winning it's a satisfying day at the office really. a few more points would have been nice but victory away from home is not to be sniffed at
