Brighton 1 - 0 Everton
To make the two domestic cup finals in one season is an achievement in itself, but to win them both is massive. I am absolutely over the moon with this result as it was always going to be a very difficult game against a side who have a strong roster and a top tier manager. Once again, we made ourselves hard to beat and our tactical strength was enough to ensure we stood our ground which gave us a fantastic foundation for Marmoush to build on, scoring the only goal on the hour mark.
It wasn't all backs to the wall stuff, as we had more possession and created plenty of chances. Everton showed their quality as even with only 38% possession they created nine chances against us. Fortunately for us, most of them went off target, and we got the all important goal.
As cup finals go, that was a decent affair. In real life, it'd be way more cagey, but 20 attempts at goal across the two sides cannot be sniffed at for the neutral.
