Sunderland U23 0 - 3 Aston Villa U23
Got flogged here. Difference between one of the best sides in the U23 super league and the winners of last season's U23 division one is massive.
The two red cards led to the two extra goals, we probably could have got away with losing 1-0 there but in the end Villa got the margin their performance and ours deserved.

Forest U23 1 - 4 Reds U23
We managed to bounce back after losing on opening day and played a great away game against Forest U23. On the downside we had Prince Kobe Cisse injured five minutes before the break after he had scored a brace earlier in the game. In the second half Oakley Cannonier and Simion Michez added one each and it helped us to a great 4-1 win. Half way through the second half Emmanuel Airoboma was sent off and both teams had to finish with ten men after the home side had lost Ben Hammond through a red card ten minutes earlier. Wonderful to have our first won of the season.

Fulham U23 1 - 1 Brighton U23
We looked like we were in good shape when Belmont gave us an early lead, but then Andy Moron got sent off and it turned the game in favour of Fulham. We were lucky to escape with a point if I am honest, but we take it and move on.
Parons did absolutely nothing in the game, but we will persist with giving him minutes as much as we can and see if Brighton can actually do something with their youth setup.

Wolves 1-2 Manchester city.
Really unfortunate to lose this one, the goal that was ruled out was frustrating as with that we would have got a point which I believe we did deserve. Jake Wilcocks had a fantastic game up front and he's really proving to be a good player and is developing a great partnership with Kee Thomas. The whole team played well however we did not take enough of the chances we created. Both strikers had opportunities however we could not take advantage of those. I am still hopeful of a fantastic season and now we can turn our attention to the cup game.

Sunderland U23 0-3 Aston Villa U23
The stats say we dominated this game and we had the lead from almost the first kick but it wasn't until the last five minutes against nine men that we put it to bed. We are a little concerned about how hard it was to score but, ultimately, that's two 3-0 wins to start the season and we're up and running well as we look to try and retain once again.
The squad continues to improve and go from strength to strength so we will be favourites for most games so we have to make sure we are putting sides away when we have the opportunity. We have done it so far but there can be no let up and no foot off the gas.
