this was a very hard game, not a huge amount of chances created from our side, apart from two mistakes where he could not keep hold of the ball Max Weiss had another decent game, the youngsters confidence is improving all the time between the sticks and he's really starting to become the number 1 keeper. The fact Anthony Patterson is chasing down his net and Norgutte in the u23s is also getting better is making him step up his performances. We were very quiet up front in this one however defensively we were reasonably strong and although villa had chances we did well limiting them.

Rosario Central 1 - 1 Bayern Munich

Went into the game with a specific plan. So did Rosario. Their plan worked - it looked like they'd sit deep and soak us up but they went and scored in the first minute instead.

We then threw everything we had at them for the rest of the entire match. We were able to get a goal but not the second one that we'd need to have had a sniff of qualification. I am disappointed that I couldn't get this team through the WCC group phases, I felt this was the team that were most likely to do it but took a while to get to grips with the side and by then Rosario have played an absolute blinder for six rounds. So we bow out and return back to dominating the German league and will try again next year.
