  1. Crystal Palace U23 v Newcastle United U23 We host my hometown team Newcastle on Wednesday as we look to get some momentum going after our win against Bournemouth at the weekend. I've decided to make a number of changes, with several younger players getting a chance to impress this week, though we will still look to play entertaining football.
  2. Crystal Palace v Sunderland We welcome Sunderland to Selhurst Park as we can now focus on the rest of the league campaign after our exit from the Anglo American Trophy at the weekend. We welcome back a number of first team regulars and will be looking to have a go in this one.

  5. Everton 1 - 0 Crystal Palace It was defeat in the final group game and with results going against us, we sadly exit the competition at the group stage. The opening game defeat to Atlanta United inevitably cost us and all in all, we were not good enough over the six games. It's been an adventure but it's now time to concentrate on domestic football between now and the end of the season.
  6. Everton v Crystal Palace We head to Goodison Park for a nail biting tie which will decide who finishes top. Three teams can still qualify with Everton the favourites to get through. Win and we go through as group winners. Lose or draw and we are relying on Atlanta United to get something at home to Racing Club so could be a nervy night on Merseyside.
  7. Bournemouth U23s 0 - 1 Crystal Palace U23s A good win and performance as I think we just edged this one and deservedly took all three points back up to London. Pleased with the overall performance as everyone contributed to the win, Daly getting the only goal of the game to settle this one.
  8. Liverpool 3 - 0 Crystal Palace We come away from Anfield feeling frustrated that we did not get anything from the game and hard done by as the scoreline does not do our performance justice. We decided to try take the game to our hosts to try catch them off guard but despite playing well for large periods, we could not get that elusive goal. The difference in quality up front certainly shone through for Liverpool as they were more clinical and took their chances.

  10. Bournemouth U23 v Crystal Palace U23 Wednesday evening see's us travel to the south coast to face Bournemouth in this league encounter. The Cherries are currently in 7th place however that does not reflect the quality that they have in their squad and this will be a tough game for us. We will be shuffling the pack for this game to keep everyone fresh so will be making changes from the last game.
  11. Liverpool v Crystal Palace Wednesday night see's us travel to Merseyside to face our toughest test so far this season, Liverpool. We have the utmost respect for their manager but we are not just turning up to make the numbers and will be looking to cause an upset. We have a full squad to choose from so should be able to go with our strongest line-up to give us a chance of getting something from the game.

    Round 2 Results

Burnley 1 - 2 Crystal Palace Delighted to get the win and progress to the next round of the competition. We were fired up for this one after the oppositions mangers comments before the game and despite going down to 10 men for the final half hour, we did enough to get the win.
  13. Burnley v Crystal Palace We face Division 1 outfit Burnley at Turf Moor as we look to have a decent cup run this season. Despite being a division lower, they obviously are confident of knocking us out though their gaffer had no clue they were still in the competition.
  14. Everton U23s 0 - 0 Crystal Palace U23s A hard earned point and we are defintely the happier of the two teams as we were clinging on for large spells of the game but put in a top reaguard performance. Funnel but in another top performance and kept us in the game so pleased with the point.
  15. Crystal Palace 0 - 3 Chelsea Abject, pathetic, clueless. That's some of the words I'd use for this peformance as it was the worst since I took the job. Soon as I saw I was facing a random I knew I was in for trouble as I always seem to lose to a random and the gods were again not on my side for this one.
