  1. STAFF, PLAYERS AND FANS DELIGHTED Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has spoken of his delight after his side finished the season in 3rd place in the Premier League after gaining promotion just the season before. Parish said "We thought the feeling at the end of last season was special when we won the title on the final day of the season but this equals if not surpasses that as for a club like ours to finish third ahead of some of the big boys is a remarkable achievement. Everyone has worked hard throughout the season to get to where we are today and we are certainly going to enjoy this moment". When asked what his hopes had been for the season Parish replied " We were honestly just looking to stay in the division and consolidate as we know how tough this league is but to do what we have done this season is great testament to the staff and players". Indeed, manager Gary Goodson was in bullish mood in his post match press conference "I'm proud of all the lads as they have worked hard all season and even when we went through a rough patch, we stuck together and fought for each other and we have reaped the rewards. Everyone at the club from the players, to my coaching staff to the kit man to the tea lady, they have all worked incredibly hard this season and this achievement is due to them". Asked what was next, Parish said "We will enjoy this moment but tomorrow we will start working on planning for next season. Gary has already identified two or three areas he wants to improve on and it's now up to me to get what he needs to help us be prepared for what will be an even tougher season next time around".

    Round 18 Results

Crystal Palace 2 - 1 Leicester City A great win for us to round off our maiden Premier League campaign and with this victory, we finish 3rd. At the start of the season if anyone had said you will finish 3rd bottom then we would have snapped your hand off so to finish 3rd top is a great achievement with the squad we have. Many think we have defintely over achieved this season and I would agree with that and next season will be even tougher however we will enjoy this moment but the hard work starts in earnest as we are already preparing for next season.

    Round 18 Results

Wolverhampton U21s 1 - 0 Crystal Palace U21s A disappointing way to finish the regular league campaign however we just about make it into the playoffs, goal difference working in our favour. Despite making it to the cup final, it has been a poor second half to the season which saw us top at Christmas but struggle to pick up points since. However as we said at the start of the season, player development has always been first priority and results were a bonus to us.
  4. Wolverhampton U21s v Crystal Palace U21s We bring an end to our u21 campaign away to Wolves, the team we recently defeated over two legs in the cup semi final, but with a playoff place still up for grabs for us. We have a number of fitness doubts ahead of the game so we will be ringing the changes for this game.
  5. Crystal Palace v Leicester City Well our destiny is in our own hands in this one, if anyone had said we would be competing on the final day of the season to get into the Anglo American Trophy then many would have laughed as we were expecting to be fighting relegation on the final day of the season. However we are up against an impressive Leicester City side who have a quality and very experienced manager at the helm and who are also looking to get into the Angle American Trophy next season so it will be a tough match. We have a full strength squad to pick from so will have some decisions to make.

    Round 17 Results

Crystal Palace 3 - 4 Sunderland Agreed we are a little disappointed with the outcome, especialy considering the performance we put into this game however results have always been of secondary importance to us at u21 level. Yes we want to win games and do well in the league but it's more about the performance for us and developing our players hopefully for the 1st team. I'd rather we play well and lose 3-4 and have good abs gains than sneak a one nil result with little gained from it. Well played @Tony
  7. Crystal Palace U21s (7) v (2) Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s We may be 7-2 up in the tie, however we will not be taking this game lightly and will approach it as we have every other game this season at u21 level. We will be putting a strong side out to ensure we get over the line in this one.

    Round 17 Results

Queens Park Rangers 1 - 2 Crystal Palace Another valuable 3 points for the Eagles, especialy after going behind in the game. We dug in and managed to get in front and then keep them at bay for the remainder of the game. Great win for us considering we had an entire 2nd choice midfield for the game as we rested a few of our game changers to keep them fresh.
  9. Crystal Palace U21s v Sunderland U21s With a semi final 2nd leg game coming up in midweek, we have resisted the urge to rest several key players for this game and gone with a strong line-up. Sunderland are an unpredictable side this season so we have to focus on this game and not the cup game midweek if we are to get anything from the game.
  10. Queens Park Rangers v Crystal Palace After securing our place in the League Cup Final in midweek, we return to league duties on SUnday evening as we travel across the capital to face a QPR side fighting for their lives. We have gone with a strong line-up and will be looking for result and performance to boot and will not be giving our any freebies.
  11. Crystal Palace (2) v (2) Stoke City Everything to play for in this game to see who can make it to Wembley. We will be fielding as strong a team as possible seeing as league survivial is now assured but Stoke will prove a tough test for us.

    Round 16 Results

Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Newcastle United A point at home and Premier League status is guaranteed for next season which was our primary aim at the start of the season. We could have taken all three points especially taking the lead so late but Salomon Rondon's strike ensured the geordie's returned back to Newcastle with a point. Overall, we are satisfied with the result and delighted to be dining at the top table again next season.
  13. Crystal Palace U21s v Bournemouth U21s Hot on the heels of our fantastic showing in the cup semi final in midweek, we face top of the table Bournemouth in what should be an exciting encounter. Our chances of winning the league may have gone but we will give this game a good go.
  14. Crystal Palace v Newcastle United A big game for us this Sunday evening as we welcome Newcastle United to Selhurst Park, where a victory could guarantee us survival in our first season in the Premier League. It's a massive game for all at the club as staying up was our primary objective and if we can do that we can say we have had a successful season. Newcastle however will have other plans and will make this a tough test for us.
  15. Wolverhampton U21s 2 - 7 Crystal Palace U21s Did not see that result coming but we played extremely well and for once took a number of our chances with Marlos Moreno the pick of the bunch with a hat trick. The tie is certainly not over and we will approach the second leg like we do with any other game to try make it through to the final.

    YDL Cup SF Leg 1

Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s v Crystal Palace U21s A massive game for our development squad as we face a gritty Wolves side. First leg is away so we will be looking for an away goal and keeping the tie alive going into the second leg.
  17. Chelsea v Crystal Palace A london derby against a struggling Chelsea side but who are dangerous on their day so we must prepare right if we are to perform to our abilities in this one. With a Cup Semi-FInal in midweek, we will look to rotate the squad around to keep things fresh.
  18. Everton v Crystal Palace A very tough test for us Eagles on Sunday evening as we visit Goodison Park. We are almost at our points target that we set before a ball was kicked but will have to be at our absolute best if we are to get anything from this game.
  19. Stoke City 2 - 2 Crystal Palace In the pre match buildup, I said Stoke would be up for this and that was the case in this game. A freezing cold Wednesday night in Stoke is a good test for any side and we take the Potters back to Selhurst Park with the game all square and everything to play for.
  20. Stoke City v Crystal Palace Unexpected cup game when we looked at this competition at the start of the season but we have enjoyed the run to the semi finals. Here we face a Stoke City side who will certainly be up for this one. Hopefully we can take them back to Selhurst Park with an advantage.
  21. Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur We managed to get through in the cup in midweek but need to address our poor league form that has tailed off dramatically since the turn of the year. Next up, a home game against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur which should be a good encounter.
  22. Crystal Palace v Sunderland Build up to the game has been disrupted due to personal issues but we have managed to get a teamsheet in and hope to continue our good form of late against a difficult Sunderland side.
  23. Watford U21s v Crystal Palace U21s We head to north London in the second leg with the game all square at 1-1 after the first leg. We will be looking to put our poor league form to the back of our minds as we look to progress to the next round
  24. Manchester City v Crystal Palace We head to the Etihad in Manchester trailing by one goal so all to play for in this game. Tomkins is the only absentee though we may rotate the squad a little as we have a massive game against Sunderland in the league next.

    Match 13 Results

West Ham United U21s 3 - 2 Crystal Palace U21s Our stuttering form continued with this away reverse against London rivals West Ham United. What looked like a blip post winter break is now turning into a bit of a rot with no win in six games and just three points from a possible eighteen. Two nil down within the first ten minutes was not ideal and we were always facing an uphill battle from then on in. We tried to fight back but the Hammers were too strong for us on the day.
