  1. Newcastle U23 1 - 0 Watford U23 Not a lot in this - could barely split the teams stats wise. Unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of it. This little slip up allows Liverpool to leapfrog over us but there is still plenty of rounds to go, so we'll pick ourselves up and keep having a crack.
  2. SATURDAY 21ST DECEMBER Everton 12:30 Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa 15:00 Southampton 2-0 AFC Bournemouth 15:00 Burnley 1-0 Brighton & Hove Albion 15:00 Sheffield United 1-0 Newcastle United 15:00 Crystal Palace 0-3 Norwich City 15:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Manchester City 17:30 Leicester City 3-2 SUNDAY 22ND DECEMBER Watford 14:00 Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur 16:30 Chelsea 2-1
  3. Watford v West Ham United Big, big game. We're sitting equal top with West Ham though they have the superior goal difference. A home game means we wont have a better chance to leapfrog them. They have a fully fit team to select from with quality all along the spine. We're still missing Martinez so goals will be hard to come by. We're going to need a powerhouse performance from both Lopes between the sticks and Morelos up front if we want to take all 3 points.
  4. Newcastle_United_U23 v Watford_U23 Somehow we're sitting top but the margin is slim with several teams breathing down our neck - including Newcastle. They have a few injury concerns whilst we will be welcoming back captain Hutchins who has served his 2 match ban and will slot straight in. Hoping to keep the good times rolling but a slip up has gotta come sooner or later and wouldn't at all be surprised if that was this weekend.
  5. Watford 0 (4) - 0 (0) Newcastle United With the damage done in the away leg, Martinez out injured and Morelos with stamina issues, we just played out a cynical draw. Wasn't exciting or pretty but it did the trick. Could be facing one of the 3 new teams and seeing how we've never had a cup run this good, there'll be a new name on the trophy come season's end.
  6. SATURDAY 14TH DECEMBER Liverpool 12:30 Watford 6-0 Burnley 15:00 Newcastle United 2-1 Chelsea 15:00 AFC Bournemouth 2-2 Leicester City 15:00 Norwich City 3-0 Sheffield United 15:00 Aston Villa 1-1 Southampton 17:30 West Ham United 0-1 SUNDAY 15TH DECEMBER Manchester United 14:00 Everton 3-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers 14:00 Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Arsenal 16:30 Manchester City 1-4 MONDAY 16TH DECEMBER Crystal Palace 19:45 Brighton & Hove Albion 2-2
  7. Sheffield United v Watford Difficult away game. Sheffield has a full squad to select from whilst we'll be missing Navarro for a couple of games. With Navarro's injury, Keane and Mukena had to play more than I would have liked in the match against Derby so there's some defense issues to sort through. On a plus side, the front line is starting to gel and putting away some chances so if we can create a couple, hopefully we can convert more than we concede.
  8. Watford_U23 v Crystal_Palace_U23 We welcome mid-table Palace to Vicarage Road in a game where we need to keep the pressure on. We welcome back Ebanks who'll slot straight into the midfield however Palace willl be missing their first choice keeper so could be a dour affair. All we need is 1 goal though which we'll be trying mighty hard to get.
  9. Everton U23 0 - 3 Watford U23 Huge win. With Hutchins and Ebanks unavailable I had thought this would be a massive battle but Sesay netted in the 1st minute to calm any nerves and then just steamrolled Everton. Folivi popped up midway through the first half to nab the teams second and super sub Akinola grabbed the third in a game we dominated from start to finish. Very pleasing result especially as the other teams around us struggled and its away from home.
  10. SATURDAY 7TH DECEMBER Everton 12:30 Chelsea 1-2 AFC Bournemouth 15:00 Liverpool 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur 15:00 Burnley 2-1 Watford 15:00 Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City 17:30 Manchester United 3-1 SUNDAY 8TH DECEMBER Aston Villa 14:00 Leicester City 1-2 Newcastle United 14:00 Southampton 1-0 Norwich City 14:00 Sheffield United 3-3 Brighton & Hove Albion 16:30 Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 MONDAY 9TH DECEMBER West Ham United 20:00 Arsenal 2-0
  11. Watford 2 - 1 Derby County Navarro limped off in the 9th minute and completely screwed our plans but I imagine Derby's plan became non existent when Anita was sent off just before half-time. Callum O'Hare scored mid way through the second half and I thought we were going to stroll it. However, fair play to Derby, they kept plugging away and equalised with 10mins to go. In past seasons we would have rolled over and accepted the draw but the lads kept up the pressure and found a late winner through Kevin Ly. Very, very pleasing. Starting think with a result like this, we might be in with a chance.
  12. Everton_U23 v Watford_U23 Going to be tough - we're missing captain Hutchins and DM Ebanks so there's a massive hole in our midfield. Our away form has not been great and we're going to need better results especially against quality sides like Everton (who are also pushing high up the table) if we want to match our YD1 title with a YPrem title.
  13. Watford v Derby County I'm not going to let Derby's league position fool us. They've got a handy side though there are some stamina issues affecting them. Good news for us - Michael Keane from Liverpool has joined us on loan and will be rushed into the side. Will be first pick most weeks. This is our first home game since round 9 so lets try and use home ground advantage to keep our good run going.
  14. Newcastle 0 - 4 Watford Unbelievable result! Newcastle are a seriously good side and I thought we were in all sorts of trouble before kick-off. However 4 goals from 5 shots on target has given us a very good shot at progressing through. Even more pleasing - all 3 forwards: Morelos, Martinez and O'Hare got on the scoresheet along with young McEachran. Now all we have to do is not ship 5 goals at home.
  15. Rosario Central v Portland Timbers Missing Attinella and Asprilla to suspension which are big outs. If we have any chance of getting out of this group, Portland needs a point or 3 from this game which will be a huge ask.
  16. SATURDAY 30TH NOVEMBER Newcastle United 12:30 Manchester City 0-2 Burnley 15:00 Crystal Palace 2-1 Chelsea 15:00 West Ham United 2-1 Liverpool 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur 15:00 AFC Bournemouth 1-0 Southampton 17:30 Watford 1-1 SUNDAY 1ST DECEMBER Norwich City 14:00 Arsenal 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 14:00 Sheffield United 3-3 Leicester City 16:30 Everton 2-1 Manchester United 16:30 Aston Villa 1-2
  17. I think Eduardo meant you have posted last round's fixtures for this round. The fixtures above are dated 23-24.
  18. @David The wat roster updated but not the ywa roster - Suckling is present in both squads and Banks and Iwobi have disappeared.
  19. Liverpool will loan to Watford: M_Keane for the remainder of the season. @Eduardo to confirm. Cheers.
  20. Promote To Watford: R_Suckling Demote To Watford U23's: L_Banks A_Iwobi
  21. West_Ham_United_U23 v Watford_U23 The youths also travel to Upton Park to face the Hammers in another 1v2 situation. The youthful Hammers are not as well rested as their senior counterparts but they're still going to be extremely difficult to break down and score against. This has got 1-0 written all over it but unsure which team will score the 1.
  22. West Ham United v Watford We face top of the table West Ham in a massive, massive 6 pointer. They'll be missing Romagnoli but it's still a strong team and their forward line has been rested. Lopes is going to be called upon heavily again to save our bacon as we usually struggle against the Hammers. It'll be the last game for Janmaat in Hornets colours so here's hoping we give him the best kind of send-off.
  23. Southampton 1 - 0 Watford Disappointing result. The Saints just went for it with a 433A and kept producing chance after chance after chance. Lopes was his normal reliable self but 13 chances is far too many to give up and one eventually made its way in for them. Watford had our chances too (though only half of the Saints) but were wasteful in front of goal. Can't complain too much as it's been a good first half of the season as Watford are sitting second and we're still in the box seat for auto-promotion.
