Round 2 Results

Recommended Posts

Crystal Palace 0 - 5 Tottenham Hotspur

If you did not look at the stats, you would have thought that this was as one sided a game as you could get but in truth, it was a very even game in terms of possession and stats, the difference was Spurs were clinical in front of goal whereas we could not find a way past Yuri Lodygin in the Tottenham goal.

Still it does not get away from the fact that we took a hammering in front of our own supporters.  We wish Spurs good luck for the rest of the FA Cup as we focus on the league.

Watford 3 - 0 Newcastle United

Was a little worried when I saw Newcastle start with A but it couldn't have gone any better. Thankfully Watford were clinical in front of goal and were sitting pretty at 2-0 by half-time. A late own goal by Newcastle rounded the game off but probably ended up flattering us a bit.

Keen to see how far Watford can go in the FMFA Cup.

Lost away from home to Everton. Our strikers didn't have a great day at the office and it was a fairly even game. Fair play to David and congrats. I think if we'd have been going over 2 legs like the old days we'd have hopefully edged it but never expected to win this away from home.

Everton 2 Man Utd 1

A close game in view of possession and probably what I expected of a good team like United. The difference on the day came down to finishing and as we had twice as many on target as Manchester the odds were in our favour to probably score. Nicely through to next round.

Hammers 0 - 4 Reds

The game was much closer than the scoreline tells us but we took our chances and managed to make four out of our six chances on target count. Kyle Walker opened the score after nine mintues before Luis Suarez doubled the lead ten minutes later. Subtitute Giovanni Simeone made sure of the win when he scored from a spot kick after an hour played. Eric Dier made it 4-0 with seconds to go and overall it was a fine evening for us
