Two new signings for The Reds

Recommended Posts

Not much has happend at Anfield this off-season but we've seen two new faces joining the club. Declan Rice was available at auction and we managed to land him when we offered £86.5m to get him to Merseyside. Rice is a great defensive midfielder and something we lack at the club. We only got Victor Wanyama as a natural defensive midfielder but Cesc Fabregas and Jamie Mahon can play as defensive midfielder as well. Rice is a young, talented player and even though he doesn't have the highest skill, he is one for the future and we're looking forward to see him in the red shirt.

Burnley FC decided to transfer list one of their most talented defenders, Dario Maresic, and when we saw he was available we decided to act. We offered Eric Dier and Marcos Alonso in swap and the Burnley gaffer was more than happy with our offer. We probably overpayed but this is something we need to do to get the best available players to the club. Maresic will get the chance to play alongside a very talented defence and I'm sure he will develop nicely at the club. Dier and Alonso wasn't in our best XI so we could afford to let them go.

In other news we've sent out a scout to get one more midfielder signed. We lack some quality in our midfield and with Cesc Fabregas getting older, we need to look for a replacement. We've been travelling to South America to find our new midfielder and we got a couple of options. We're expected to see a new player arrive at Melwood later this week but nothing is confirmed yet and we'll have to wait and see if we're able to get our primary target
