I was right to call this a banana skin game and we nearly slipped.
Actually when we had 70% of the ball and zero goals I'd say that's two points dropped. Not scoring left them in it when they otherwise by any other metric were just not at the races today.
I hope it won't cost us later in the season, that said there were quite a few draws in the division this round so we keep pace with other teams below us.
Chelsea U23 and West Ham United U23 played out a tense 0–0 stalemate a where defences and goalkeepers were firmly on top.
The hosts started brightly, with Ezenwata and Arthur both going close early on, but keeper Herrick was alert between the posts for West Ham. Antwi, who earned Man of the Match, was commanding in defence and even went close with a header just wide of the target.
After the break, Chelsea’s Arthur struck the bar in a controversial moment where the ball appeared to cross the line, but play continued. West Ham threatened through Philips and later substitute Divin Mubama, who hit the bar in the closing minutes.
In a match of missed chances and strong tackles, Antwi and McDonald stood out for their defensive leadership. Both sides left frustrated not to find a breakthrough, but satisfied with a clean sheet
