a fiesty london derby ended in a draw which i am very happy about especally as we drew level right away after arsenal has scored and both teams had a man sent off so with this result we sit 4 bottom as we keep fighting to stay in the big league

Liverpool 4-1 Aston Villa
I abandoned my normal counter attacking policy for games at Anfield and boy did it bite me in the arse. They would have had the counter had we gone for a C but even then i'm not sure we'd have been as comprehensively beaten! It's my biggest defeat on FMFA since we lost 5-2 at Everton in round 2 of season 19 and only the second time we've conceded 4 or more since then! I have played Ed a lot as an underdog on ESMS in recent seasons and that is the biggest beating he's given me but credit to him - he's having a great season with seniors and youths. His side have won an unprecedented 9 from 9 in the league so far and it looks like an absolute stroll for him at the moment. Somehow we're second and they destroyed us!
In fairness, the game doesn't feel like a 4-1 based on the stats. We had more corners and managed 11 chances to 17. But they were more accurate and clinical whilst our GK had an absolute stinker. We take it on the chin and move on - it's the toughest game of the season out of the way!
As I say, we somehow remain in second place but 11 points behind and the battle to be best of the rest is well and truly on. The side keeps improving and we want to become a regular Anglo American Cup side (although we've had a 'mare there this time around) so that is the goal for the second half. We have Christmas off to lick our wounds and try to bounce back straight away in the new year.
