Reds U23 3 - 1 Baggies
Our first half display wasn’t good at all and we didn’t play at the level we’re used to. We missed simple passes, failed to win duels and our working rate was simply not good enough.
Ranel Young hit the bar early on but from there the visitors dominated the first half and got a much deserved opening goal ten minutes before the break when Alex Gilbert scored from a spectacular scissors kick. We changed things up in half time with a change to our formation and it helped us to get back in the game. We also admittes to ourselves that we had to perform on a much higher level if we wanted to turn the game around.
We hit the post in the opening minutes of the second half and we got our equliser, we scored three times inside seven minutes to take the win away from the away side. Ranel Young made it 1-1 in the 57th minute and we was back on level terms. After an hour played Jack Darius came on to replace Oakley Cannonier up front. The talented striker is having his last couple of games at U23 level before he is top good for U23 football. Darius scored a brace inside three minutes only a couple of minutes after he entered the pitch. He sprinted past Finley Thorndike and scored with ease when he made it 2-1 before Nya Kirby played a great pass which sent Darius on his own with Joe Whitworth. His finish was good and we found ourselves 3-1 up.
We was in total control of the game the remainding half an hour and secured our third straight win. Great to be able to hit back after losing our opening game of the season.

Bournemouth U23 0-1 Aston Villa U23
Our 100% start to the season ended with a whimper as we put up little fight to go sown 1-0 on the south coast. It was a cagey affair but ultimately they were the better side and we had very few chances to score. Both sides playing C basically nullified each other and led to a dull game.
The winning run wasn't going to last forever and we take it on the chin. We knew this would be an extremely hard game and so it proved. We still haven't conceded more than one goal in a game and are averaging three so it's not all bad. We just hope we can bounce back from this one next time out

Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s 2-0 tottenham Hotspur U23s
A 2-0 win where the score doesn't reflect our dominance in the game. 21 shots to 4 with 13 on target to 1 and 65% of the possession is the true story. We could and probably should have won this by more.
As it was the two early goals from Ben Stevens and Frankie Maguire were enough to take the win that takes us to the top of the still fledgling league table. Our miserly defence has shipped just one goal in the league so far and, whilst we haven't scored as many as we would have liked, we are doing enough to win games. A long way to go yet but this squad keeps improving and it'll be interesting to see how far we can go
