Sunderland U23 v Coventry City U23

I've just looked after Coventry for a week and now we are playing each other in the cup!

I think we still are without Gordon as waiting on the outcome of that appeal over his 4 match suspension which as best we understand it, is an admin mistake and should just be two games. We've picked out a technically gifted and exciting young player from our schoolboy squads in Matadeen and promoted him through to the U23's, registration should be completed this weekend and keen eyed fans can expect to see him get some minutes.

We're feeling pretty good about ourselves being four points clear in the league and seeing off Manchester City's U23's away from home. Happy with our form and our style and we will look to capitalise on our form to progress in all the competitions we're in, more games means more development, both in terms of playing but also managing game states. Should be able to get it done against the Sky Blues on Wednesday evening.

Even though we are the wrong end of the table in this years league we manage to get a by which will be a nice fitness reset for the players in round 1

Good Luck to everyone involved
