This was a very tight game with both teams creating chances and playing some fantastic football. I was really proud of how my players adapted to the new formation and it really suited them well. Reynolds looked a bit out of his depth to start with playing the loan striker roll however as the game went on he adapted well to it and almost scored a couple of times. The two attacking Midfielders behind him were both fantastic and unlucky not to score. This was a game that could have gone either way however the important thing is we've got four out of six points from these two games and given in this one the players had to learn a new formation we could not fault their efforts.
Ok a little rant now as I hand Brighton back to Will and I feel hard done by in this game.
We deserved three points out of this, Leicester were awful at home and we should have put them away. So not good enough by any stretch of the imagination.
But for how bad we were, the refereeing was a disgrace. I'm told Best was sent off for simulation?! Since when is that a red card? And now he's out for THREE games!!!
Absolute rubbish and for what it's worth its probably a square up for the awful decision made two minutes earlier in sending off one of their blokes too. It's not sheep stations but it's not a park kick about either, stop sending these green refs to U23 games!
Anyway whatever I say about how good Brighton were doesn't matter if you don't score more goals than the other guys. But you can bet we'll be appealing this rubbish red and the ban length too.
Back to where we were, we managed to scrap a 87minute goal to equalise this match and keep us dead level with the team above us, its not what we were hoping for as it would have been nice to have a run of form but will take the point and move onto the next match to see what happens but this season is over for the youths now with the leaders way out on 20 points after 8 games
