West Ham United U23 were edged out by Derby County U23 on penalties after a tense FMFA U23 Divisional Cup finished goalless across 120 minutes. Derby enjoyed more possession and threatened early through Aidan Weston, forcing an excellent save from keeper Herrick, while West Ham responded with spells of pressure led by Mido Halim and Ben Woodburn. Both goalkeepers were prominent, Josh Shattell denying Halim and later frustrating Kieran McDonald in normal time. Extra time brought chances at both ends but no breakthrough, with defences holding firm. The shootout proved decisive as Shattell saved three penalties, earning Derby a 3–2 shootout victory and sending them through, with James Jones named Man of the Match.
