Aston Villa 1-1 Wolves.

This was a very tough game, Villa are a top side and they proved that with the performance they put in. I am proud of the players as they did not give up all game and managed to get the reward. Mathys Tel got another goal and if he can have as gooder season as last season we should be ok. Himself and David Fofana are starting to build a promicing partnership as is our centre half paring of Dan Ballard and Piero Hencapie. Toby Colier did a solid job in front of the back four and the only negative was Grannit Xhaka getting sent off. Really proud of the players for there performance and hopefully that can continue going forward and this can be the start of our recovery in the league.

Aston Villa 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
A bit of a smash and grab from Wolves here who didn't really deserve the point they got. We had the better of the game despite being countered early and had the lead through a Bruno Guimaraes strike at which point they gave up said counter. They then had Granit Xhaka sent off and it should have been a routine home win for us. But it's a funny old game and they found an equaliser as we have to settle for a point.

Not ideal to lose at home and this makes the midweek away win even more vital. If you drop points at home you have to win away. I'd have taken four points from the first two games but it should really have been six. Still - we move on.

Philadelphia Union 0-0 Deportivo Torluca
Playing against the random the nightmare is you get countered and so I was worried when that happened. We had gone attacking to try and make sure we had chances which we did but so did they and neither side could get the breakthrough. So we have to settle for a draw. Like Villa, this makes our away win last week even more important as dropping points at home always makes it hard work in this type of competition. Still - was never going to be easy in this comp but we stay in the mix

bay 0 - 0 Rosario Central

Not good enough. Could not score. Should have battered them. Their defender got man of the match for a few passes and spraying Gnabry with a bottle of Lucozade. Happens so often, do we need to look at the OHS implications of having energy drinks on the sidelines?!

Liverpool 2 - 3 Brighton

Marmoush and Bowen got the goals here in a shock win at Anfield. We actually played really well against a strong side who took a two goal lead before losing D_Szoboszlai in the 14th minute. The comeback was on when Marmoush pulled one back, before a Bowen double saw us claim a huge three points. After reading the first 10 minutes I assumed we'd been battered so I skipped to the end of the report and was shocked to see we'd won! Unlucky Ed!

Napoli 0 - 0 Inter Miami

A point and a cleansheet in Naples was more than I expected to be honest! Our roster isn't great, so we've had to concentrate on getting the tactics right and they certainly worked out here for us! We stood firm when called upon, but also had more chances and could've pulled the old smash and grab. However, we take a point and celebrate our visit to Maradona town.
