Re: Round 1 Leg 2 Results
Nottingham Forest 1 - 1 Sunderland
Ryan Craig was unexpectedly absent from the dugout for the away leg of this Round 1 tie against Nottingham Forest (aka submitted the sheet to the wrong competition!).
And it showed, with Forest controlling all of the game bar the scoreboard, the early away goal by Savinho enough to see the Black Cats through despite a draw on the day. G_Mama'shvili made 10 saves to keep the visitors comfortably in it, yet wasn't even ranked amongst the best of the Sunderland players let alone in contention for man of the match.
Sunderland progress 2-1 on aggregate and look forward to the next round, as they eye off any chance of silverware they can lay claim to.

If you can't even beat a T you deserve to be eliminated. At least Boston are still in it.

Re: Round 1 Leg 2 Results
Leeds United 4-0 Queens Park Rangers
We played QPR for the third game in a row and this time we got it right showing our class with a dominant performance. We gambled that they would do the same as they did in the league game which is what transpired and, in a crazy 20 mins either side of half time we settled the tie with goals from Tammy Abraham, Ian Maatsen, Diogo Nascimiento and an own goal from Connor Bradley being more than enough. A very satisfying win and we move onto the next round and back to the league action with a bit of confidence.
Leamington 0-0 Bromsgrove Sporting
We knew Will would look to protect his lead here so we had to go out of our comfort zone and play an attacking E away from home. We knocked on the door but then just couldn't make the breakthrough. So we go out at the first hurdle and it looks like we're concentrating on the league

Re: Round 1 Leg 2 Results
Hartlepool United 4 - 1 Chippenham Town
A brace from Charlie Caton either side of halftime plus goals to Hassan and substitute Francis see us comfortably through this fixture after a bit of a nightmare in the away leg to be honest. I feel for their player that was sent off, seemed harsh, but maybe that balances out the two reds we got in the first leg. I hope the Chippenham boys get their keeper some lotion for his hands because he's going to be red raw after all the saving he did. He was bloody brilliant but just left with too much to do.

Dagenham_and_Redbridge 1 - 3 Leicester_City
"Job done"
Leicester City recovered from an early scare to secure a convincing 3-1 win over Dagenham and Redbridge in the FMFA League Cup second leg. C_Lawless fired the hosts ahead inside a minute, but J_Hato quickly equalised before E_Ferguson turned the game around soon after. J_S_Larsen added a third on 19 minutes, capping a dominant first-half display. Leicester controlled proceedings throughout, finishing with 26 shots and 73% possession. Dagenham rarely threatened after their opener, despite a super display from goalkeeper S_Howes. The visitors eased through the second half, with Larsen earning Man of the Match in a commanding team performance.

Re: Round 1 Leg 2 Results
Leamington 0 - 0 Bromsgrove Sporting
Job done in the first leg meant we could try and nullify this one, but was really surprised that Bromsgrove played so well with playing E away from home. That's normally a difficult trick to pull off, so credit to Alex and his side because we all know how crazy European tactic can be at the best of times. Nice to progress, especially after the awkward start to the league campaign we've had. Expecting a tough game in Round 2 though as we are well off the pace of a lot of other sides in this tournament.
West Bromwich Albion 0 - 2 Coventry City
A Brandon Thomas-Asante double against his former club was enough to get us through here, even if it did take extra time to see us over the line. We absolutely dominated the game and fully deserve our place in Round 2!
