Sunderland 0 - 0 Crystal Palace

Droll game. I thought having two 6's would suit us - one to create, one to destroy - but despite a lot of the ball statistically we didn't do much with it. They came with a plan to sit deep and try to win the long ball or the second ball. They will be very pleased with the result, we have missed a golden opportunity to take control of the tie and instead have to go to Selhurst Park and win it there on the day. I don't love that.

Do love seeing a 17 year old Slade barging Outtara off the ball though, those two were at it all afternoon and that battle was entertaining!

Leicester City 1-0 West Ham United

"All to do in the second leg"

West Ham battled with 10 men to a 1-1 draw against Leicester City in a dramatic League Cup clash at the King Power Stadium. Leicester struck early through Huijsen, capitalising on a loose ball to fire home. West Ham responded well, creating chances through Mount and Zirkzee, but were frustrated by an inspired Randriamamy in goal. The game turned before half-time when Yoro was sent off, leaving the Hammers with ten men. Despite the setback, West Ham pushed on and were rewarded late when Uche calmly converted a penalty. Hammers performance earned a deserved share of the spoils.
