Rojinegros 1 - 3 Reds
A game we dominated from the start and at half time we had already secured the win. Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the score before Luis Suarez doubled it halfway through the first half. Julian Quinones brought the home side back in the game with a well taken right foot finish but Luis Suarez got his second of the evening late in the first half and we was 3-1 up at half time. The home side lost Diego Barbosa through a red card early in the second half and it helped us to an easy win. A win we needed after we drew at home in the first game of the group stages.

River 2-2 Aston Villa
We played the lottery against a random sheet and came away with a decent point. On the balance of play that is pretty much exactly what both sides deserved. A point on the road is always useful although it could well have been better.
We now go into back to back matches against Liverpool - the best side on the game and one we know very well. We have a good record against them but they're never an easy side to play and we will need to be at our best. A 2 point lead over River and 4 over Atlas gives us a buffer but we'll be hoping to nick at least 2 or 3 points off the Reds to give ourselves a really good chance of progression.
