Re: Group Game 3 Results and Reactions
Eagles 0 - 1 Blades
We set up with the right tactic and got the advantage from the start but we was disorganized in the opening minute and the away side countered us. Gianluca Scamacca wasn't picked up and he made it 1-0 to the visitors inside the first sixty seconds. A tough start but at the same time more than enough time to turn the game around. Scamacca made it almost 2-0 twenty minutes later when he hit the bar and beat the defender to the rebound. His second attempt was off target and we was lucky to escape without falling two goals behind. The visitors came close once again minutes before the break when Sepp van den Berg hit the outside of the post. The Blades should have led by a bigger score at half time but somehow we still had a chance to get something from this game. The second half saw us hitting the post twice but we never looked comfortable and we never looked like scoring. The visitors defended really well and was in total control of the game. They had more than 60 % possession throughout the game and they tired us out when we had to run without the ball. A poor performance overall from us and we ended up losing. It put's us in third after three games played and we have to perform far better in the second half of the group stages if we want to progress.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Queens Park Rangers
Another home win for us this season but this one was hard work and, despite having the overall better of the game, it wasn't until the 80th minute that substitute Diogo Jota was able to give us the victory. We'll put this one down in the "hard fought" column.
Because of the confusion with the fixture list we now have three away games to make sure we progress through this group which is never going to be easy. We have only played away from home once in the six games we have played so far this season - although we did win that one with our equal biggest margin of the season at 4-1.
At the half way stage we are second - three points behind Sheffield United and three ahead of Crystal Palace. It's looking very much like it will be a three way scrap between those teams. Despite being second qualification is very much in our hands and so we're in a solid place heading into the second half of the group stage

Leeds United 0-2 DERBY COUNTY
With the Derby manager stuck in bed with a virus it was left to his assistant to pick the team for this game.
It turns out he did a pretty good job.
We out fought and out played our opponents in every aspect but it took until added time in the first half for us to make the breakthrough when defender P_Mari managed to get himself into the opponents box and showed the forward how to do it. The game was all but won in the 64th minute when C_Jones managed to work space for himself and fired the ball in off the post.
We had a few more chances, hitting the post twice but were never in danger of letting the lead slip.
