Aston Villa 2-1 Wolves.

I am really proud of the players in this one, although we lost two one for a large part of the game we were well in the game. We did not have as much of the ball as I would have liked given the midfield we've got however I was pleased with asifo at the back and vadan as well. Villa won the league last season so it was never going to be an easy game. We have a good squad so once we find what works I am sure results will improve. Players need to forget about this one now and concentrate on doing their best for the next game. having an extra high rated defender in Bonswell and Lavia as an 18 rated dm will also help as I've got an idea for a formation i might try with the youth team going forward.

West Bromwich U23 1 - 1 Brighton U23

We nearly got the ultimate smash and grab here, but West Brom got the equaliser they deserved at the death. They deserved so much more, and we failed to take advantage against a weaker goalkeeper.

We will need to be a lot better than this if we want to survive Division One!

Aston Villa U23 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers U23
A good result against the side I looked after last season and helped to build. We were by far the better side in terms of creating chances but just weren't clinical enough at taking them with only 40% on target. We will have to improve on that. As it was a flurry of late goals gave us the win with a double from Coventry loanee Aidan Dausch who endeared himself to the fans straight away! They pulled one back through Osifo but we managed to hold on

It was a strange day for Villa's Matthew Bondswell as well as Wolves Frankie Maguire and Ben Hockenhull who were all involved in the game but it was their last involvements with their respective clubs before they report for business at today's opponents on Monday morning. Villa have big hopes for Maguire in particular whilst Bondswelll has been a great servant to the U23s for a few seasons. We wish them both well.

Very pleasing to get off to a winning start in the defence of our title. Hopefully we can make a really good go of it this time around

Reds U23 1 - 0 Forest U23

A goal from Nya Kirby after sixteen minutes played was enough to win the game. We did ever so well defensively and even though we didn't play our best football we managed to get off to a winning start.

Bournemouth U23 1 - 2 Arsenal U23

Off to a great start this season already, loss against a non sheet where once against the power of N tactic is shown, injured keeper so its going to be a tough few weeks, we will see whether its worth trying to carry in with the youths, we do have several players worth developing but if these type of losses occur then not much point
