That's the right way to get a two legged tie started. Where was this performance in the league! Mind you feels like half the team got booked but I don't care, it's all footballing actions and part of the game. I think Darcy will be suspended for his fourth yellow card of the season though but again this is football. I think the return leg is in a week or so, we'll have a commanding advantage in the tie and just need to keep it together for the away leg.

Sunderland U23 0 - 0 Aston Villa U23

Tough fixture whether we start home or away, they're an impressive team and have our old friend L_Buchanan in the team too, we know what he's about, quality lad. We look like we had the better of it on paper but it was the sort of game that stats didn't matter, it was going to be a mistake that coughs up the one goal in the game, and neither side ended up making the mistake. So we'll have probably the toughest away leg of the round and we'll have to think carefully about how we approach them, how they'll approach us, who we'll have available, who we won't. Several of our guys are indicating they want to start looking for a move into senior football which is totally fair, just awkward timing. Hoping we can keep the group together long enough to get through to the quarters!
