Arsenal 0-1 Wolves.

What a great result for our players. Although we had a man sent off early the players did not give up and continued to attempt to create. When Arsenal also had a man sent off it gave us a level playing field. Dan Ballard has been spoken to and realises his actions could have cost us the game. I do not tolerate players behaving in that way and at the time he did that we actually looked the better side. Our captain started off life in this league with a goal and already he's proven he's able to do it at the higher level. Max Weiss did what he had to do and made a few good saves. Overall I am very proud of the players and they can now go onto the next game having managed a win against a side expected to be challenging.

ZIRKZEE AND COADY’S GIFT SINK CITY

Manchester City 1–2 West Ham United

West Ham United left the Etihad with all three points after a dramatic 2-1 victory, with Joshua Zirkzee the star of the show and Conor Coady’s own goal adding to City’s misery.

The Hammers struck first in the 39th minute when Coady, under pressure, turned the ball into his own net. Just after the restart, Zirkzee made it 2-0 with a thunderous finish off the underside of the bar, capping a relentless first-half performance from the visitors.

City battled back and finally found hope when T. Barry lashed in a superb strike on 78 minutes. But despite late pressure, including Pulisic rattling the woodwork deep into stoppage time, City couldn’t find the leveller.

West Ham dominated possession and created a host of chances, with Zirkzee’s movement and link-up play constantly troubling the home defence. Keeper Meret stood tall late on, ensuring the Hammers held firm.

Derby County 0 - 1 Everton

MUGGED!
There is no other word for it we have just mugged Deby of their win.

I have had games like this where I have been like Derby. I have got everything right the tactics and then we play the opposition off the park. We beat them in evrything, shots, possession but then bizarrely we lose it at the death to a late goal which is the oppositions only shot on target! To make matters worse for Derby it wasn't even our shot but an innocuous back pass that beat the keeper. I suppose there is a slight argument for they shot themselves in the foot but ultimately they were all over us and deserved the win.
Don't get me wrong I'm not going to turn down three points especially in the opener but I feel for you @Dazoctaron and I know you should have won.

Whites 0 - 5 Reds

Not sure what to feel after the opening game. Facing T is never what we want to but at the same time you have to make your sheet to compete at the highest level. We did make our sheet and ended up with a massive 5-0 win on the opening day. Only downside, we lost Hugo Ekitike through an injury.

Aston Villa 1 - 1 Brighton

Strong performance against a very good side. with Marmoush the only Brighton player who would make the Villa starting XI. Delighted with the result and performance, and hopefully we can actually make something of this season.

Well played Alex

Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

We came up against Will and his patented 5-1-2-0-2C formation. This is almost a cheat code when playing against me for Will as I haven't yet found a way to reliably beat it. We had counter and home advantage and the better side but the game was entirely even and, if anything, they should have won. I find it such a frustrating one to play against and I am thoroughly unsurprised to take a point. Mattheus Cunha saved us from an opening day home defeat with his equaliser in the 86th minute!

Still, in the context of all the other games on the day finishing in away wins and defeats at home for last season's top two it doesn't look so bad based on that. Brighton are a strong side with a good manager so maybe a point is the best we could hope for.

After one game last season we had zero points so we're better off - lets think positive!
