Solihull 0-1 Nottingham forest.
A loss however both teams competed well, unfortunatly we could not get a goal however the players shown 100 percent commitment. Really proud of how the lads have started. Onto the next national league game on friday.

Wolves 2-1 Newcastle.
Great win for the lads, our new formation worked really well and the players seemed to adapt really well, our new signings both made good first appearances for the club and their going to be great aditions.

Reds U23 0 - 2 Seagulls U23
A tough result to take but the visitors was the better team and outplayed us. Goals from Joe Belmont and Darius Lane secured a great win for the visiting team. We need to perform far better in upcoming games if we want to perform well in the tournament.

Eagles U23 0 - 1 Cityzens U23
Gutted to lose this one. The visiting team never showed up with their manager and we had the tactical advantage from the start. We never managed to make it count and lost the opening game of the tournament. Massive taks a head of us.

Dagenham & Redbridge 1–0 Darlington
Dagenham started with a win in there first group game with a narrow 1–0 win over Darlington at Victoria Road.
The decisive moment came early when Connor Lawless rifled home from the edge of the box on 7 minutes. The Daggers dominated for long spells, with Wilson and John-Jules both hitting the woodwork, but found Darlington keeper Pete Jameson in inspired form.
Darlington pressed late on through Cornish and Kirkiro, but Sam Howes stood firm to secure the clean sheet.

Sunderland U23 0 - 0 Bournemouth U23
We enjoyed a lot of the ball but they had their moments too, both keepers seemed to be in control, we could do a skosh better at improving where we're shooting from though, a minor issue. Happy with Lightfoot standing out for us. And no injuries or suspensions is grand.

Re: Group Game Round 1 - Results
Buxton 2-2 Aston Villa U23s
A really even game away at Buxton as we had our first experience playing against a senior side. Their superior attack was always going to be a challenge but we took the lead through Adam Berry's first goal for the club. They came from behind to lead through Sodje and Hill - 2 players that would be over rated for our setup - only for new captain Rodrigo Fortes to peg them back with his first goal for the club
Overall a draw was fair and not a terrible result for us away from home. Should set us up to have a good chance of progression

Bromsgrove Sporting 0-1 Coventry City U23s
Our second successive defeat and we had hoped for better in this one. We thought Will may try and double bluff us but he didn't and they had the counter leading to the win. Not a lot to shout about from the game for us and we need to up our game after a poor week.
Losing at home probably makes it tough to progress from here - we're going to have to win on the road at some point but it's only one game and hopefully we can bounce back at the weekend
