A deserved win as we dominated the possession and chances created but struggled to score once again which is becoming frustrating. In the end we did get 2 goals which got us over the line but that's a poor return from 22 shots with 11 on target! And it follows on from a run of games where we only scored 4 times in 7 (although we did manage to win 3, draw 3 and lose only 1 in that period - we only conceded 2 at the same time). But the draws are costing us and we find ourselves 5 points behind the leaders Liverpool despite only losing once all season.
So we'll be looking for ways we can improve on that. Defence is fine currently - we've conceded 4 goals all season in the league and 0 in 5 games in the cup. We've also been free scoring in the cup - 12 in 5 games - but 7 in 9 in the league is not good enough. It's back to the drawing board with tactics on that one as we're still in the mix but need a good run of wins to really put us in there. A 27r FW would be nice - maybe santa will help us out with that. If not, some scouring of the market may need to be done.
But a win is a win and a positive result going into the Christmas break where hopefully we can regroup and come out fighting in the new year.
