We gave this a real good go, but unfortunately fall short in the first leg. We needed a win in the home leg to stand a chance, so we will need to go above and beyond at Goodison if we want to progress here.
Haaland netted our only goal, but it was too little too late as we conceded twice early on to Martinelli and Bailey.
We had to do a bit of rotation here as we have had a very busy period of games of late, and managed to come through with a 1-0 win. It's possibly not enough to take to St James' Park, but it's good to be ahead in the tie after the first leg.
Jordi Ferrer scored the only goal of the game, which also saw each side also receive a red card with Benarous sent off for us and Toney being given his marching orders for Newcastle.
Good luck in the second leg Harry, this one is well poised!
