Round 1 Results
Re: Round 1 Results
West Bromwich Albion 1 - 4 Leicester City
Scorers: E_Ferguson (2), A_Disasi, C_Aucellia
So the season got off and running and seen us play the first of many derby matches scheduled this season as we visited West Brom. During the close season we decide a few too many where aging and going backwards but we had the squad depth to withstand the loss of personnel and only brought in one player, Doku who made his debut. We had very much totsl domination(74%) and on the 24th minute Ferguson grabbed his first to put us in the lead. Just before half time Disasi stretched our lead and we went in oat half time with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Straight away after half time, Ferguson grabbed the second of his brace, a good opening game for the young Irish man. West Brom grabbed a consolation a minute later. Aucellia came of the bench to finish the scoring on the 89th minute to give us a satisfying 4-1 victory

Re: Round 1 Results
Bournemouth 1-2 Aston Villa
A great result to start off our season away at a good club with one of the best managers in the game. This was always going to be a very tricky one - i've taken some hidings off Matt in the last few seasons on ESMS - and i'd have taken a point so a win is fantastic and great to get one back on him as well.
Svante Ingelsson was touch and go to start the game as he was struggling a bit for fitness after the Super Cup. But we chose to go with him - mainly because of the quality of the opposition - and he paid dividends opening the scoring on 20 minutes with a well taken finish. The game was fairly even before and that so it was a crucial point of difference. The second came from a more unlikely source as Croatian international and debutant Marin Pongracic was brought down when clean through in the box. No double jeopardy these days as a penalty was deemed enough and Ansu Fati served up justice with a clinical penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. That marked the end of Ingelsson's involvement as he was subbed to a standing ovation from the away end.
We sat back a bit after that trying to protect the lead and that allowed them back into it with a goal through Tomas Soucek but it was too little too late and we were able to hold on.
Away wins are hard to come by on ESMS and so we're really happy with this one. We gave league debuts to three players - all of whom contributed - and are still hoping there's more to come. With a 34 game season in front of us this is going to be an absolute marathon of a campaign and whoever wins it will definitely be very deserving. Well, with the super cup, we have started with 2 wins and we can't ask for more than that. Hopefully we can keep it going!

Re: Round 1 Results
Liverpool 1 - 3 Arsenal
Great start to my new senior career on the site, against what is surely to be one of the favourites to win the title so i can't complain at that.
You could say it was still a close game but when you have ther strength in your team that Liverpool does they will always be dangerous, but we were the better team and deserved to take the full 3 points on our first trip away from home.
Scorers
J_Alvarez (21), M_Chouiar (41), M_Guehi (44)
Was great to see both our starting strikers grab a goal and our new signing Guehi not only grabbed a goal but played amazing and took home the man of the match award which was fully deserved
