Re: Round 5 Reaction
Tottenham Hotspur 2 - 4 Brentford
K_Benzema (9,29) Torrem_Moffi (17)
Injured: G_Guedes (73) B_Johnson (40 pen,57)
Sent Off: D_Dalot (47)
M_Cornet (67)
Superb result and performance from the lads especally after we went a goal down but moffi pulled us level before the home side retook the lead through benzema but 2 goals from johnson put us in the lean and inbetween that dalot was sent off to reduce us 2 ten men but that didnt effect us as we scored a 4 th goal through cornet for a superb win

Re: Round 5 Reaction
Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa
I didn't think reducing the ratings would stop some strange results. Unfortunately this game proves me right.
Make no mistake Chelsea are a decent team and had home advantage. And the 3-5-2 plays to their strengths. But it also played to ours in this game - limiting their defensive and attacking ratings. It should only have been successful if they created way more chances. They didn't - 16 shots vs our 22 with them having 9 on target to our 12. We also dominated possession which we shouldn't have done against that midfield. So the game should have been fairly even with maybe us nicking it? Maybe the home advantage should have got them the draw?
We had 2x24r FW against a 22r def, 2x20r def and a 24r GK. They had a 22r and 21r FW against a 22r def, 2x21 def, 1x20r def and a 25r GK. Logically we should score more goals if we create more chances. We even made subs to work against the fitness degradation. Effectively everything I know about ESMS means we should have won this game. With all that i'd have been annoyed with a draw and irritated with a 1-0 defeat. You can imagine how furious I was to lose 3-0!!!
We just have to mark it down as a one off nonsense result and move on. I'm sure they will even out over the course of the season. The irritation is that, if we played this game again I would do the same things as I don't believe we did anything wrong. I believe that these teams, with these formations, if they play 10 times, we win 7 with 2 draws and one Chelsea win. I reckon a 3-0 Chelsea win is 1 in 100. But it happened so we just have to hold our hands up and look forward to when it's our turn for a dodgy one.
It is hard to pick yourself up after a game like this. I bear no resentment to the opposition manager - he picked his team and on this occasion it worked for him. That's the game. All my frustration is with how it has transpired.
We are still up there and challenging in the early part of this season and this crazy result will not define our season. We will put it behind us and move on. But it is going to nark us for a while. A good performance and win is needed asap to start to leave it behind us.
