Re: Group Game 5 Results & Reaction
Aston Villa 3-2 Tottenham
We're holding on in there in this competition. After 3 defeats to kick it off we were virtually out. But, after back to back wins, somehow we find ourselves in the qualification spots.
That's one hell of a turn around after a terrible start. We don't often beat Tottenham either so a very satisfying win to get one over on them. It was a very open game with us taking the lead early to be pegged back only to take it once again. We thought we had it wrapped up with a goal in the last 10 but they hit back immediately to setup a tense finish.
In the final group games, we travel to the already qualified Los Angeles whilst Spurs are off to Argentina to face River. This means we're definitely out if we lose but a draw will be enough if the other game is also a draw. If anyone wins that other game we also have to win and that should be enough barring a goal difference miracle. With LA having nothing to play for hopefully they will play the reserves and we might get an easier ride but they've been in great form in the comp so far so we know it won't be easy.
Just to have a chance at this stage is a miracle though!
