Re: Round 3 Reaction
Qpr 2 - 0 Arsenal
Countered the whole game against a team and manager who didn’t even want to show up, a very disappointing result for us after a decent start to the season.

Re: Round 3 Reaction
Leeds United 1-2 Aston Villa
A second 2-1 away win for us maintains our 100% start to the season. The truth of this one is that, unlike our win at Bournemouth on opening day, we always expected to win this one against an unmanaged side and we dominated the game in a way I was very pleased with - taking 69% of possession with 18 shots to 3 and 10 on target to 2. All the squad contributed nicely although, as it happens, it took and own goal from Romelu Lukaku to put us in the lead after 25 minutes. Ansu Fati kept up his great start to the seaosn with his 4th goal in 4 games just after the half hour and we were comfortable. My regret for this one is that I then changed to a conservative counter attacking style a little early and we didn't score any more goals - indeed conceding one with a mix up between Marin Pongracic and the debuting Giovani Garofani. The young Italian didn't have a lot to do between the sticks on his senior debut but will be happy to keep a clean sheet. The goalkeeper situation remains up in the air at the club and it is now thought that Garofani may go out on loan to gain his first team experience with the management reverting to Christensen as first choice. We will see what happens there.
So a third successive win to start the season sees us second in the fledgling league table with us and Everton the only two remaining 100% records. We haven't really played anyone of significant note as yet though and we are aware of much harder games to come. All we can do is keep trying to win games for as long as possible and stay up there in contention. We've said before - winning a 34 game league season is going to be extraordinarily difficult but we're up for the challenge and will fight all the way for it.
