Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa
We tried something new playing E away from home and going with only one up front. We knew the opposition were likely to go with a C and so we wanted to try and counter that. Unfortunately I just don't seem to be able to find a formation that plays well with an E away from home which makes C really hard to play against.
The game was very tight with Mounir Chouiar getting the only goal from the spot after 15 minutes. We went to 4-1-1-2-2 straight away which didn't enable us to break through - so the experiment isn't over - maybe I just have to persist for longer with it.
The result leaves us 2nd in the group after 3 games with 4 points. The plus side is that we have two of our remaining three games at Villa Park so we still have every chance of progression. In fact, wins in both of those will almost certainly see us progress so all is not lost - but we can't afford any more slip ups in this one now. We didn't get out of the groups last year so to fail again would be unthinkable. It's still in our hands though...

Liverpool 3 - 2 Everton
A very close game and all sorted in the first half , goals wise.
We got off to a good start in truth popping one in and I guess we knew it wouldn't last that Liverpool would come at us hard and boy did they! We struggled to cope as they equalised and continued the surge to score again and then again. In fifteen minutes we had gone from one up to one two down and we still had 15 mins left of the first half.
We switched up to attack them and it worked with us grabbing a goal back and we still hadn't reached half time but with the score at 3-2 to Liverpool it came.
The second half we both got control of the game and were both cancelling each other out as we tried for more goals but nothing happened and we lost by one in a close enconuter.
